Joseph Arthur announces new album, The Ballad of Boogie Christ -
Every Wednesday night, I saunter over to Entwine, the little speak easy/wine bar next to Tortilla Flats in the West Village to participate in a music salon of sorts, the brainchild of Greg (G Whiz) Wiecsorek and songwriter/guitarist Kraig Jarrett Johnson, who is thriving survivor of the No Depression sub-genre that grew from Uncle Tupelo into Wilco, Golden Smog and The Replacement. This night, a few special guests decided to play including Joe Arthur on bass, Tim Hyde on guitar (yep, The Replacements), Kraig, Greg and Courtney Love.
Joe Arthur brought his haunting voice to a number of songs and shared a few of his own from his new album, The Ballad of Boogie Christ.
Dig it!
